The Sniper and Medic are widely considered the highest-impact classes when played well — Sniper controls long sightlines while Medic keeps the push alive with heals and revives. For new players, the Rifleman is the most forgiving because it brings a balanced bolt-action rifle and a grenade for every situation. Classes are earned by leveling up your overall progression and, in some cases, unlocking specific classes through in-game progression. Each class also has its own loadout, letting you unlock weapons, skins and equipment by playing that class. The Officer and Flamethrower tend to require the most dedication, so focus on one class early to reach its best loadout faster.

ENTRENCHED has three core modes: Frontlines, a turn-based mode where teams attack and defend sectors until one side pushes through; Conquest, a perpetual attack-versus-defense mode where you capture and hold territory; and Domination, a King-of-the-Hill style mode where you hold the capture point to score. Squad coordination and the right class for each phase are the keys to winning.

Gas attacks blanket an area and damage anyone inside the cloud. If you are hit by gas, the fastest response is to equip your gas mask or move out of the cloud before your health runs out. Support classes can supply gas masks and ammo, so staying near a well-equipped squad makes a gas-heavy enemy push much easier to survive.

The v1.23 Weather Update introduced dynamic weather variation that affects map visuals and atmosphere, most visibly on the new snowy Eisstadt map. Weather can reduce visibility and change how sound carries, which makes positioning and communication even more important. Experienced players adapt their sightlines and routes when weather shifts mid-match.

Focus on objectives rather than raw kills — capturing and defending points earns consistent score and helps your team win the match. Play as Medic or Support to stack points from heals, revives and ammo supplies while staying near the action. Sticking with one class also levels its loadout faster, unlocking better weapons and equipment that make every future match easier.
